The Premise
The goal of these high-level briefings is to provide individuals with a quick definitive overview of different emerging technological concepts and strategies. This benefit of this series is to allow attendees to judge for themselves how these technologies will affect both their business and application development.

As a developer or project manager in the current eCommerce environment we are faced with a myriad of choices for implementing application solutions and connecting them to our existing architecture. How do we decide which strategy is best suited for our environment? Whom can we talk to and get an unbiased opinion for our application? Product Vendors? Consultants? Product Specialists? Every “expert” that I can turn to will undoubtedly have their own agenda to support and may not have the best interests of my organization forefront on their mind. So, who can I trust to assist me in understanding the implications of my implementation. The answer is ourselves. We are the best choice for concluding which of the many different products are best suited for our individual application. The only requirement is that we educate ourselves to understand the realm of solutions that our application can choose from.

One of the most difficult aspects of project management in the eCommerce environment is the ability to absorb the many new emerging concepts. However, each of these have substantial drawbacks like our investment in time and the inability to be involved in interactive discussions on these topics.
