Course Abstract
This course utilizes a combination of instructor-led lectures and interactive workshops to demonstrate the administrative tasks for maintaining the WebSphere Application Server v5.0 environment. This seminar will focus on: WAS v5.0 editions, deployment considerations using AAT, migration strategies, browser-based administration, performance and tuning issues, workload management, failover strategies, clustering, defining JMS servers, session management concerns, DataSources, PMI metrics and JVMPI and monitoring strategies.

Upon conclusion participants will have acquired these skills:

  • Install and configure environment for WebSphere Application Server v5.0
  • Illustrate the performance monitoring tools available
  • Demonstrate the role of WebSphere security and the implementation of LDAP architecture.

Prerequisites

Each student should have a general understanding of the WebSphere environment and the capabilities of the product. No Java programming exposure is required.
