Course Abstract
The UNIX operating system is the primary multi-tasking operating system for minicomputer and workstation applications. It provides a wealth of commands and utilities for the beginning and advanced users. Because of their support for multiple users, UNIX systems often require the part-time or full-time services of a System Administrator to add, delete and change user logins and characteristics, correct disk problems, monitor and manage the system accounting, and correct other problems that may arise during the daily use of the system.
