| Course Abstract |
This course utilizes a combination of instructor-led discussions and interactive workshops to demonstrate the capabilities of Borland’s JBuilder v8.0 IDE for the development of J2EE enterprise applications in an N-tier architecture. The goal of this course is to provide the student with a strong basic foundation on the use of the JBuilder IDE to develop Java components (like servlets, JSPs, JavaBeans and EJBs) that can be deployed to a WebLogic application server environment. Additionally, this course will describe some supplementary abilities of the tool for unit testing, refactoring, Web Services development, team development and build utilities. |

Upon conclusion, each participant will have

- Understand the JBuilder IDE environment
- Utilize the different JBuilder projects
- Work with Projects and the IDE
- Create System/Apache ANT build processes
- Utilize the JBuilder's Debugger tool
- Perform test cases using JUnit
- Use JBuilder capabilities for project Refactoring
- Perform basic application deployment processes
- Depict the development of Swing/AWT applications
using JBuilder Designer tool
- Use the IDE’s Javadoc generation facilities
- Perform team development processes using
CVS or ClearCase in JBuilder
- Use the integrated JBuilder Database Tools
- Develop web applications that incorporate
servlets, JSPs, Applets and JDBC components
- Understand the capabilities of Web Services
and the role of SOAP, XML and WSDL
- Illustrate the deployment JAR, WAR and EAR
web application files to an application server
