The course is intended for: Experienced Cisco Network Administrators who are preparing to install and utilize Cisco's Campus Manager and Internet Performance Monitor tools.

Course Abstract

This course enables the student to use the Campus Manager to utilize the configuration management aspect of network management. Thestudent will learn many automated features that simplify configuration management tasks, such as defining and assigning ports to VLANs, and viewing end-user host settings. The student will additionally learn the Access Control List (ACL) Manager which is the first add-on application to Resource Manager Essentials The student will learn to manage the access lists of Cisco devices in an enterprise network environment. With ACL Manager the student will be enabled to reduce the time needed to develop new filters and maintain existing trafficfilters in large-scale deployments of Cisco devices. Finally the student will learn the Internetwork Performance Monitor (IPM) which is a network response time and availability troubleshooting application. The student will be empowered to proactively troubleshoot networkresponse times utilizing real time and historical reports.

   
Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

  • Install Campus Manager (CM), Internet Performance Monitor (IPM), and Access Control List manager (ACL)
  • Configure the CM, IPM and ACL products for commonly used scenarios
  • Operate the main features of the CM, IPM and ACL products
  • Differentiate product configuration problems from network configuration problems
